Doors

A front door you notice. A lock nobody gets past.

Entrance doors, French doors and garden doors in aluminium, timber and PVC, all specified to PAS 24. We match them to your windows and sliders, so the whole house uses one finish, one handle family and one team for the guarantee.

Entrance doors

Side lights · fanlights · pivot doors · smart locks

Panelled timber doors for period fronts, flush aluminium doors with long bar handles for new builds, and good-value PVC doors for side entrances. All have multi-point locks, anti-snap cylinders and, if you want them, keyless or app-controlled locks.

  • Letterplates to TS 008, so nothing can be fished through
  • Glazed side lights and fanlights in laminated glass
  • Traditional ironmongery or concealed hardware

French doors

Double doors · open in or out · with side panels

Two leaves that open fully to the garden or a Juliet balcony. They suit openings up to about 1.8 m wide, where a slider would leave half the width blocked. Add fixed or opening side panels for wider openings.

  • Open outwards to keep room inside, or inwards for balconies
  • Slim meeting stiles in aluminium
  • Level threshold where the floor allows

  • PVC

Garden and side doors

Single doors · half or fully glazed · utility and side returns

The door you use every day to take the bins out or let the dog in. Same security as the front door, with glazing to suit the room and a finish that matches the windows next to it.

Opening wider than about 1.8 m? A sliding or folding door will usually work better. See lift & slide, slim sliding and bi-fold doors.

Rules

What a London door has to meet

We check these at drawing review and confirm them in writing for building control.

Part Q

Security in new homes

Entrance doors and other easily reached doors in new dwellings must be tested to PAS 24. We specify every door to it, new build or not.

Part M

Level access

New homes need an accessible principal entrance with a level threshold: no more than 15 mm of total upstand, and a clear opening width that suits a wheelchair.

Part L

Energy

Replacement doors in existing homes need a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or better. Fully glazed doors are assessed like windows.

Part K

Safety glass

Glass in and beside doors, up to 1,500 mm above the floor, must be toughened or laminated. We use laminated glass for security as well.

Send us a photo of the doorway and its width. We’ll tell you what fits.
